Home Education Program

Home Education, or Home School, is a form of education where the parent is the teacher and the child is the student. Parents have the option and capacity to educate their children themselves. It will be up to the parents to create the schedules and teach their children according to the curriculum. As far as parents are concerned, the classroom can be anywhere—whether at home, at the playground, coffee shop, or wherever they feel they can teach their kids. More parents are encouraged to homeschool their kids as the essence of home education is to create a priceless bond between the parents and the children.

As accredited by the Department of Education (DepEd) and a member of the Homeschooling Association of the Philippine Islands (HAPI), the Home Education Program (HEP) of PENIEL is designed to provide an alternative delivery system of educating children who for some reason or under extreme circumstances cannot avail of the formal system of instruction in a regular school.

The program aims to:

  • Develop the children’s potential in all areas of growth and development outside of the formal schooling system;
  • Recognize the parents’ complementary/supplementary role in the education of their children;
  • Provide literacy, numeracy and life-long skills through an alternative system of teaching and learning; and
  • Promote the levels of talent, interests and skills of the child that he/she may become a self-propelling, fulfilled and contributing member of the community.
